Malaysians = Rude?

Malaysia is SO different than America (now that I've been here for a couple of months, I think I can give out an unbiased honest opinion la kan).

One of the major differences is tahap kesopanan seseorang itu. Oklah, agak keji la kalau aku nak compare because manusia ni ada yang baik ada yang lahanat, but lets take a look at orang-orang yang deal dengan customers, let it be salesperson, pak guard atau front-liner people (bank, pos ofis, etc).

Pak guards/jaga kat Malaysia memang semuanya sombong sombong. I mean I can understand lah its their 'job' to keep a straight face and be stern, tapi kalau setakat nak cakap "jgn pijak rumput" tu tak payah lah nak tengking tengking.

Memang agak selalu lah aku kena tengking dengan guard-guard ni sebab I COULDN'T SEE THE FUCKING DO-NOT-STEP-ON-THE-GRASS SIGNBOARD . Cakap baik baik boleh tak? Tak payah la nak tengking dengan keji "hoi hoi! jgn pijak rumput!! tu ada signboard, tak boleh baca ke???" dari jauh.

What the fuck?

First of all, CAKAP ELOK ELOK BOLEH? Mana budi pekerti? Mana "bangsa Malaysia penuh dengan tatatertib?" MANA? MANA?

Secondly, TAK PAYAH JERIT JERIT DARI JAUH. Your job is to berjalan/berdiri/guard, yang kau menjerit sebatu jauhnya apasal? Sila gunakan kaki instead of your fucking throat.

Thirdly, YOU ARE A FUCKING DISGRACE. You WORK in a uniform, you REPRESENT Malaysia and yet, you are being RUDE to visitors. Malaysia is the 3rd MOST RUDEST country in the world (do correct me if I'm wrong) because of PEOPLE LIKE YOU, prick.

And forth, please learn some people-skills thanks.

Oklah, I'm not saying America is penuh dengan orang-orang baik baik belaka (nampak sangat lah tipu ni), but MOST of the people that I've encountered with (let it be org beruniform ke, penjual ke apa) are generally nice. The guards tak jerit jerit kat visitors yang melanggar "signboard rules". They don't go "hoi! hoi! Don't step on the grass! There's a signboard, can you not read???"..I mean matiler kalau diorg cakap mcm tu, masuk court la nampaknya..haha.

But maybe that's what we Malaysians need. The testicular fortitude to saman orang.

"Pakcik tengking saya? SAYA SAMAN PAKCIK!!"

Haha...indahnya.

  9. There's more than one way to be rude to someone, and sometimes I think Malaysians (especially government employees/civil servants) have it down to an art form...

Also, I was back in KL for a short time recently and I am sad to see that the staff at supermarket checkouts are still indifferent to the customers.

In Aussieland, we are greeted with a cheery "Hi, how's it going?" and sent off with a "Have a good day!" In KL.... stone-faced silence as your purchases are rung up.

And what's with shop assistants following your every step around a store without uttering a single word? As if waiting for you to nick something?

  10. Lea: A ah, betul, guards dari Nepal mmg ingat diorg tu superior gila, dah la bahasa malaysia pon tak reti, English pon tak reti! Mcm mana nak communicate? Bodoh betul company yang hired diorg tu, mau cheap labors je.

Shasha: Yer! Buang duit rakyat je kerajaan buat those kempen kempen, tapi tak berkesan. Wait, mmg kerajaan mmg suka buang duit rakyat kan! Known fact!

Dyan: Ala, orang front liner tu selalunya yg kerja gomen yang perangai mcm celaka. not all la, but most of them.

Zue: HAHAHAH best kan kalau boleh saman saman ni? But Malaysia ni red tapes and politik kuat, kalau nak saman pon nanti ada POLITICANS yg akan back up.

Kak Wos: hahahaaa!! Mmg ramai orang yg rude, seriously, kat Malaysia ramai sgt manusia yg tak de adab! Naik menyampah ok! Front liner ni selalunya org kerja gomen je yg perangai mcm cibssss, eh betul la, byk experience ni. Hahaha!!

Nanie: Kan! Jom! I mean mmg la kerja diorg nak 'guard', tapi kalau cakap baik baik tak boleh ke?

Natasha: Nat, I knowwww, it's the same over here too! It's the norm lah kalau dgr they greet, but have you ever heard MALAYSIAN cashiers cakap mcm tu? No! sometimes kita yang cakap "thank you". Apakahhhh, I'm buying from your shop and I"m saying thank you???
